I hope so too, this franchise has so much to offer in terms of characters and world-building.

Yep. Unfortunate. The movie was still good overall though, despite its hiccups. Hopefully, this will be a guiding tool for the sequel, if they make one.

Yeah, Capper was okay too. Sia just… didn’t seem to fit in. Mind you Luna and Cadance were also just as active.  
I keep getting the impression that the movie was supposed to be a lot longer. As if they originally had a longer story arc for each of the Mane 6 and the new characters (there were rumours that Capper and Rarity were supposed to have a side-story together, even a romantic duet song, but it was cut for time). Of course, when you’re trimming a movie down, and you have to crop out either the big guest stars that you paid a lot more money for, or the regular Mane 6 stars to probably got paid a lot less, you start to see why AJ and Flutters were sidelined so hard.

I actually liked the Sia cameo…I’m not really a fan, but her pony-sona was cute, and she didn’t appear enough to interfere with the storyline. My only wish was to have MORE mane six and less random animals we meet on the way. Though Capper was awesome :D

Yeah, WAY too many of them. Tempest got the best focus on that, I think. I get that they needed more characters to push the story along, but they just seemed crammed in there. Especially Sia’s character, that was just kinda dumb. Kids liked it I guess though..?

She is a lovely character, but I agree that Applejack and Fluttershy could have been given more. Too many guest stars I guess.

Why did Pinkie get all the jokes in the movie.
 
WHy did Pinkie get the second largest slot of screentime and effective focus in the movie out of all of the Mane 6
