your current filter.I wouldn’t want her to walk away from her life and her friends, but we do need more back-and-forth with Equestria. It’s in the name, for corn’s sake.
I’m very sympathetic towards that view myself. Granted, in a perfect world we’d have Sunset Shimmer moving into a main character role in place of Starlight Glimmer in the show proper.
To the point I would come up with a contrived plotline involving Sunset’s (and by extension Starlight’s) EqG world counterparts just to finish the storyline and get Sunset to permanently return.
Likewise. Though I’m ok with her magic being red, I find it a little too subdued given the colour of her mane.
Personally I think the only reason it’s red here is to differentiate from Starlight’s magic.

Elemental magic is purple for Rarity, light blue for Pinkie, red for RD, pink for Fluttershy, orange for AJ, and white for Twilight.
Rarity’s magic from EqG is white.
Ah, my bad. Besides, I just choke it up to the show being pretty inconsistent with regards to unicorn magic colour. Minuette’s is yellow, like her cutie mark, but Trixie’s is purple, like her eyes. I personally don’t mind the change, but just preferred the old colour in-and-of-itself.
