Finally something non-pixel stuff ! %% I made the original sketch in November 2017 and it has been lying around since then…
Is a nice dark art piece I’ll grant you and the artist that.
Well, semi-grimdark and no dark per se, but it’s a close aproximation.
It’s just the effect of simple intolerance to different forms of expression. I believe people should just do whatever they want when doing any art. As long as what they set out to do is creative and/or engaging enough, and is well done, they shouldn’t take ridicule just because other people don’t like what it represents.
I for one think this piece is pretty good. Like the style. Even if I don’t care for what it represents.

What it bothers me is the fact that you see someone with a different headcanon in his mind and others just want to stick to one headcanon. Very often that headcanon is pretty valid on his own rights and the artist make his/her attempt at making a draw, fanfic or something about it, but then others think you should follow a very specific line for the character and you are like “but I like to do it this wway because of my reasons”, he/she’s not insulting the mainstream headcanon and his/her only crime was having a different way to think, but because of this others say that it doesn’t work and he/she should do things in the “normal” way.
It’s funny how headcanons, the way we try to escape from the canon’s limitations ends up limiting you instead if that headcanon is mainstream.
Very true, and I feel the same way, a bit. I never liked the ‘Pinkamena’s a split personality serial killer craze’ very much just cuz it mostly stems from making edgy stories and art for the sake of it, and it’s mostly repetitive and not creative enough. But, I can see the appeal and am not really bothered by it, but it is a little tiresome. Same with anything else people come up with in the fandom. I just don’t care if it doesn’t appeal to me.

Unfortunately, it tends to wear down some bornies here because of how repetitive things can get. I’m not really interested in gore for example not because of his nature, but rather because very often people use it in a “gore for the sake of gore”, and it can get repetitive at times. The only exception is when it’s used for more comedic purposes.
Another reason is simply that people like to do what they want with the characters. We all know the ‘Pinkamena’ thing was simply a representation of depression, like one time in fact. But, Pinkie Pie is still a rather unhinged character in some respects, and people like to use this version of her as an exaggerated representation of that to make stories or art. It kinda happens with all the characters pretty frequently. Because bronies have kinda always been like that. We take stuff from the show and mold it into what we want for community created entertainment. Especially stuff that isn’t explored much like certain background characters.
She totally would too.
Much better. :)
“Give me that horn or I’ll blow your face off.”
I don’t think she’ll cut Pinkamena, given what she can do with her broken horn.
“Give” here meaning “give me that horn or I’ll cut you.”
Sorry, not 100% fluent english speaker ’ere.
The word is “Give”
Some people who still draw stuff from the show stopped watching around season 3. So now they just draw what they used to like about the show/fandom.
Reasons.
