G4 is still very popular. This would not be a reason to end it.

that was because of the unexpected popularity. Of mlp changes gens every decade. Although g4 will technically go on, as hasbro has plans on keeping equestria girls going.
I´m not ready to give up on G4 yet. There are still many stories to be told. G5 can wait a little longer.
