the romance focuses with the other characters not with the main. That’s why it’s a friendship story. not things that we want. the future will be friendship is magic.

this is a friendship story. fluttercord is canon and they are best friends and they are not part of a loving relationship. It’s not up to us what we’re saying.
There’s a lot of focus in the last 4 seasons. Makes sense to make it a big thing for the last season rather than just adding new villain.

At least Discord + Fluttershy will become canon in S9. Not sure about rest of them.
Maybe she will get one in episode 21.

The recording for S9 shoudn’t be over until around May or June 2018 but so far it doesn’t seem like Wierd Al recorded anything for S8 and specials.
