Maybe Grubber is just a Pukwudgie that got Awakened due to some wild magic?

Or maybe Grubber is a some sort of hybrid and after seeing this comparison i start to think about some similarites in Pukwudgie and other Storm creature’s - i don’t why, because little eyes

This was actually my first thought as well. Grubber reminds me a lot of Toady, the dwarf ogre that was Duke Igthorn’s right-hand mook in the Gummy Bears cartoon.

I don´t favor one design or the other.  
With a little communication they could have made them the same species. The Storm King has conquered half the world so having him conquered the Pukwudgies and taking in Grubber would be not strange. His second in command was Tempest after all.

Just because I know about convergent evolution does not mean I am going to dislike the idea of what could have been. Also this could also be answered with divergent and even parallel evolution.

Grubber is the same species as the storm guards and Storm king.  
It’s just that he might have some form of dwarfism, not the same species at all.

True, but the ones in “School Daze” barely resembled the mythological Pukwudgies anyway.

Not really the Pug face and the Pukwudgie are in the same family but they are differences for example the Pug Face is more intelligent then the Pugwudige as well as them being farial and very unfriendly creatures we know little about the Pug face Grubber being the only one we have seen

Pukwudgies are creatures from Native American folklore. Not really the same as whatever made-up species Grubber is supposed to be.
