I sense a Voldemort Esque backstory to her with some Kylo Ren and Anakin thrown in there.

Hmmn….Good backstory but i don’t her backstory involves killing.

Tempest was a former student of Celestia who was really good at magic and was popular.  
Her magic was becoming more powerful a d she was impressing Celestia so Celestia advances her studies to higher magic, Tempest’s abilities become so powerful that it begins to worry Celestia  
One day Tempest creates a mgic so strong it nearly destroys half of Canterlot as well as killing a few ponies and severely injuring others a d in the process it destroys her horn due to it’s power.
 
 
This leads Celestia to banish Tempest to the farlands never to return.  
This angers tempest then she joins the storm king who takes her under his wing and becomes her mentor.

Soo, looks like this book basically is going to give Tempest some sort of The Dark And Troubled Past to justify both her being Storm King’s Dragon and her inevitable Heel–Face Turn at the end of the movie… Is it just me, or the whole plot starts looking a biiit too predictable…

Tempest Shadow being as great a character as Dinobot would be quite a feat.

Also just noticed that not only is tempest shadows horn gone, but its hollow…ouch.

The way Tempest has been described in this  
“not willing to do a villains bidding” atop the fact that she’s inevitably going to join the good guys really reminds me of someone

yeah, I can almost see the look on Tempest Shadows face as a reaction to that seeming oblivious. Her eyes narrowing in confusion at Twiligth’s such apparent aloofness. I love the contrasting of such characters in media,I really do.

I think this will add in the extra 30-40% of Tempest Shadow’s story that the movie won’t tell.

I just love how oblivious Twilight look .She look like she just going on her day blissfuly unaware of the twelve foot God of Thunder and the grumpy unicorn sans horn

I just realised this, but the storm king only has 3 fingers…weird…
