Nobody’s doing that, either. We’re discussing the results of a poll. Nobody’s telling you that you have to hang out with Twilight because she won the poll. The poll merely indicates that a majority of people who voted would rather hang out with Twilight.
 
Untwist your underwear and relax. Nobody is saying anybody has to do anything. All @RainbowDash69 was saying is that not everyone who thinks Fluttershy is best pony thinks she would be fun to hang out with.

Nobody said that. Calm yourself. It’s called the law of averages, and on average most people are going to think Fluttershy is boring because she’s too quiet and surrounds herself with animals (which, as anyone who’s been around that many animals knows, doesn’t smell particularly great).
 
That doesn’t mean that it’s an invalid choice if that’s your thing. No need to act so offended.

Didn’t say it was a best pony poll. Fluttershy and Luna have had those locked up since the early days. It’s about who’s fun to spend time with. And, admittedly, spending time with Fluttershy wouldn’t amount to much unless being surrounded by animals is your thing.
 
It’s also vindication for Twilight, because if everyone really believed she was just Book Horse she wouldn’t have won. What makes Twilight a fun companion is her vast knowledge, which would make her fun to talk to even if you were just sitting in comfy chairs. Starlight is also fun to talk to for similar reasons, but more adventurous and willing to try new things.
 
Pinkie is fun, but she would wear anyone out really fast because keeping up with her is impossible. Rainbow loves talking about herself and how awesome she is, which would eventually get old. Rarity’s fashion talk would lose people fast and AJ’s idea of hanging out is probably work.
 
Personally, the reason I like Starlight so much myself is because I think she’d be fun to be around. She’s a little unpredictable and kinda crazy, but not completely out in space. I feel like this poll is honest, between people who think Starlight would be a blast and people who think a quiet night in with Twilight would be nice.

Haters gonna hate. It’s not your fault so many people get mad if Starlight Glimmer is even mentioned. The fact that she was right up there with Twilight is going to burn the ass of everyone who waifus any of the other characters. I would be surprised if there weren’t more downvotes than upvotes because people tend to throw childish temper tantrums over who is best pony as it is.

First off, nobody said they represent the whole fandom. They do represent a pretty sizeable chunk, but not the whole fandom.
 
Second, Sunset wouldn’t win. As an EG fan myself, I know she remains a very contentious character to the sect of the fandom who likes to claim she doesn’t actually exist.
