If I remember right, Berry becoming popular as the town wino was a relatively rare instance of this sort thing being intentional on the writers’ part. According to… I forget who exactly, but either Megan or Sibsy, they looked at her design when they first started using her and decided that yep, she’s the boozer.

Not sure how peppering ponies could’ve become a thing.
 
Berry already got meme’d as a “drinker” due to her brief punch scene. (According to artist Sibsy, originally Berry burped after taking a sip, but that was taken out before it aired.)

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

Kinda surprised that bronies didn’t take this scene and run with it like they have others. Poor Derpy has been typecast as muffin obsessed ever since that one episode.
