The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

That’s a squirrel monkey. They make great pets if you don’t mind the fact that they physically can’t control their bowels or bladder (it’s not a matter of training, they live in trees where it falls away from them, and don’t have the ability to hold it), do bite as a way of communicating that they are upset (even if they like you; they bite each other as a way of communicating) and require a social structure, so if your family isn’t big enough or well-set up in a way a monkey can understand the hierarchy, they frequently go insane and chew their own fingers off. For safety’s sake, you should keep six of them or more, or keep none. The downsides said, they are adorable, and capable of being affectionate.

@BP My post was mostly a joke.
Any living thing that I buy or might buy, I make as sure as possible that it was collected responsibly or preferably propagated in captivity. Preservation is important to me.

@grandfathermushroom Probably don’t buy a slow loris. Google slow loris cruelty before making your decision.

Monkeys can be good or bad pets, largely depending on the circumstances and dedication of the prospective owner. They’re certainly not for everyone. Some people have them and find it very rewarding, although time-consuming.
