@DragonBoi471
There’s no reason to exclude the movie, and it’d be dumb to, as it literally ties in quite directly to the start of season 8. The movie happened in the show’s canon, so it’s a valid addition.
@Ihhh
Well, not really…but I do have one nitpick: Your list includes the MLP Movie, and my comment specifically asked for episodes; movies don’t technically count as episodes.
@DragonBoi471
Putting your hoof down.
Leap of Faith.
Rainbow Falls.
Rarity Takes Manehattan.
Pinkie Pride.
Party of One.
The Best Night Ever.
Lesson Zero.
The Movie.
Fake It Till You Make It.
I could go on, but I just know you’re going to move the goalposts and try to find a bullshit excuse as to why none of those count.
these obnoxious horses do actually act like this often enough that their friends were completely justified in assuming they were just having A Bad Day.
I have a hard time believing that statement. Could someone provide me some examples from past episodes where these “obnoxious horses” acted exactly like their evil doppelgangers? And before anyone says The Return of Harmony, lemme stop you right there; they were discorded, which was against their own will, so that episode doesn’t count.
The recent editorial on EqD pointed out the most obvious reason why this is a trash opinion; these obnoxious horses do actually act like this often enough that their friends were completely justified in assuming they were just having A Bad Day. They still stuck it out because they really are good enough friends that they’re willing to just deal with each others’ malfunctions and keep on rollin’.
@TexasUberAlles
I still hate that they ended up all upset and angry with each other,
and walk away from it still believing that they really were all such complete bitches to each other.
Whether they reconciled or not.
@Amethyst_Crystal
The problem was not one of them.
In the end their friendship is stronger than ever.
If they learned about Chrysalis she would have lost the moment of surprise.
She also learned where the elements are and can make a new plan.
We haven´t seen the last of her.
@genervt
I’m glad that they reconciled,
but not learning what the problem was, and not understanding what the problem was,
leaves the whole experience feeling kind of pointless.
It’s been a long time since an MLP episode gave me this ‘why bother’ feeling.
They noticed.

That’s still goalpost moving.

Wow…just wow…
“Be sure to take your stupid pills before every grand adventure!”
I didn’t write it.
Nice job with the fix fic. Too bad the writers never thought about it, could’ve easily made this a two parter :)
Like how twilight just decided to abandon ponyville to its fate, but Fake twilight is the star-scream.
Or how fake rarity was discorded rarity…..if she did crack.
discorded applejack just felt like a compulsive liar and to fake applejack seems like con-artist.
fake Fluttershy is basically her discorded self
Pinkie is an obvious one and so is rainbow dash. Ones bored the other does not give a shit
I imagine this is how it happened.
“Lets make discorded copy’s of the mane six, but this time lets make even bigger assholes!”

Same here. To quote a line from Toy Story, “Did you (The Mane 6) all take Stupid Pills this morning?”
but not learning what the problem was, and not understanding what the problem was, leaves the whole experience feeling kind of pointless
Well, it could also be framed as their friendship being so strong that even when a two-time Champion Supervillain was actively trying to destroy them, they still stuck together without having to break out any of the supervillain-fightin’ moves.
Not sure if this counts as a success or not.
I would rather say that they gave her a timeout.
That does not mean that they would never speak with her again.
The problem was not one of them.
