While Bright Mac and Pear Butter are absent from this flashback, but so is Apple Bloom, and Diamond Tiara’s parents have yet to even marry by this point, let alone have Diamond Tiara, who is close in age to Apple Bloom.
 
It’s worth pointing out that we’re just calling that version of Applejack a teenager for convenience sake, we don’t know how old she actually is, but she’s definitely much older than she is here, she has her cutie mark at least.
 
It seems easier to just assume that AJ and Mac’s parents are just out of town than to conclude they’d already died by this point.

Depends on how old they both are. If AJ is 10 in this picture, and AJ and AB are 20 and 10 respectively in the present, it could work.

You can’t go by the show’s confusing timeline for it. Or Apple Bloom was born after the parents were already gone.
