I have to disagree.  
Vignette was entertaining in a weird way and the twist was beyond hilarious.  
Twilys, Shimmys and Dashies subplots were funny and the shipping was adorable.
 
I also liked the song.
 
The time for the CMC will come and I´m looking forward to it.

Yeah, I’ll give it that. But the villain was weak and got on my nerves pretty quick, the subplots with Twilight, Sunset, and Rainbow Dash didn’t really go anywhere, the Rarijack shipping was too overly-blatant for my liking, the twist that they were in a giant, white room the whole time was pretty stupid, the ending felt rushed and generic, and they once again pull the ‘reform-the-bad guy’ card, which I am getting sick of. And again, the CMCs were snubbed again.

I don´t think it needs to be redeemed.  
And the CMC can still appear in another special.

Ya know, this special could have redeemed itself if it had Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo as secondary protagonists, helping Applejack expose Vignette. Or better yet, get their own subplot which ends with them becoming part of the main cast.
 
But no. They just end up as mute background characters AGAIN!!!!
