Not any famous person: it was Louis Prima.  
I can understand how replacing the voice of a character previously voiced by a celebrity may be tricky (honestly, who could fill John de Lancie’s shoes if he wouldn’t — or, heavens forbid, couldn’t — voice Discord anymore?) even if I don’t believe it to be impossible, depending on the circumstances.  
I don’t think that’d be the case with Brynna Drummond though.

honestly the whole king louie thing was a big lipped alligator moment, so I’d be glad if they just dropped it and never spoke of it again. my knee-jerk opinion is to let his stupid family slip into obscurity if they’re so insistent on it.

The original voice of King Louie died decades ago so of course Disney had to hire another guy to do the voice from then on. But the guy that did the voice for King Louie was a famous comedian so his family sued Disney for “using his likeness without their permission”.
 
Disney eventually just retired the character and there was a last minute edit to an episode of House of Mouse so that the character of King Louie was replaced with another character (made just for the edit and never used again).
 
That’s what I recall anyway. Obviously something like that would never happen with these voices though.

I’m not a big fan of the jungle book, so I don’t really know the voice either way. I think recasting is not frequent, because the fans get angry when they do it, but I personally don’t mind it much.

seems silly to tie a character to one voice, honestly. the more voices you use, the more universal that character gets. pinkie pie for instance, her singing voice is a totally different person than her regular voice actor, so she’s not just a character of andrea libman, but something greater that andrea plays a part in.

You never know until you actually ask the staff. Is recasting like this frequent in other shows? Also, remember what happened with King Louie and why Kin Larry exists.

why not? it’s awesome if you can find someone who sounds similar, because you can bring the character back! especially if the original VA was only there for one episode!

I don’t know. Most of that list is just background ponies that didn’t speak much to begin with. The first entry is not correct. That was Blaze not Spitfire.
 
Look at how Twist never spoke again even though they had lots of opportunities to get a new voice actress.
