Princess Luna had concluded that humanity was, on the whole, unreliable at fulfilling their promises. Ergo the only way to make sure they’d adhere to ethical behaviour was to demonstrate her invincibility to them, so they’d know there’d be consequences should any government on Earth violate international law.
