I like to think that godhood based on the approval of your peers has a lot to do with how said peers view you.  
Since Celestia and Luna seem like Leaders born to guard the newfound peace between pony races, Cadance ascended from some sort of love magic rescue and Twilight for friendship powers or smth, it makes sense for Alicorns to be a product of the publics vision.  
tldr. I think that Alicorns can have vastly different looks, I’ve drawn all of them simple w one pair of wings before but it’s also not below me to draw them as big writhing amalgamations of wings and hooves, they’d probably look quite different if they lived farther from other ponies but Alicorns are always in the public eye ?  
Idk that’s a lot of speculation and stuff, p much I just draw whatever is fun to me tho hah  
I’d love to make tripple wing pairs canon but it’s a pain to draw some I pretend like my alicorns shapeshift

Lucky for u I love both, short hair and gay horses, so u got good chances of more content from me aylmao  
And Luna w short hair looks hella snazzy fosho but I also wanna play around with more like visual differences between Celly and Luna, a lot of the recent Luna pieces I’ve done have her hair long, wavey and droppy kinda like water ? But I also wanna try a sorta grown out style, long and tangle/dry from being stuck on the moon for decades yanoo  
Like bcs damn I love Luna, bcs stars n moons _{and she’s one of the few ponies with an actually darker hued body color sob}

Oh, forgot to mention, for whatever it’s worth I think Luna looks hella good with short hair =3 although that might be because I’m hella gay for ladies with short hair hahaha

So Luna and Celestia have multiple pairs of wings like how some angels are depicted in your AU? That’s rather interesting. Are they the real deal or are they illusions like the “hair” they have?

man thanks ! I’ve never been a huge fan of Cellys color palette so when I was trying around I realized that she’d make a hella nice albino, also suits her well colorwise imo  
Luna I am still tweaking a lot these days but I wanted to get this uploaded before it becomes completely irrelevant  
I do like Luna to be a bit more predatory and fighting oriented while Celestia is more motherly due to having to be sole ruler for so long  
I am not sure if I’ll keep Lunas hair short but def wanna stick w that for celestia.
