I think there is more than enough potential for at least 11 or 12 seasons without any loss of quality.

For example there are countless characters that deserve to be revisited (Babs Seed, Diamond Tiara/Silver Spoon, Lightning Dust, Rolling Thunder, Suri Polomare, the Pillars, Gilda/Gabby/Greta, Coco Pommel, Iron Will, Bright Mac and Pear Butter, Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail, Cheese Sandwich, Autumn Blaze, Daring Do, Ahuizotl, Pharynx, Wind Rider, Gladmane and many others)

They can also show Scorpan, Grogar, Katrina, Zebras, Centaurs, Minotaurs, Abessinia and a whole heap of other things one day.

We still have to see the CMC Manehattan, meet other Zebras, hear more stories about AJs parents and learn more about Trixies past and her father.

Scootaloo can learn to fly through Magitek.

AND I want Rainbow to reconcile with Lightning and start a FRIENDLY RIVALRY with her.

And most of the fandom has been wanting more exploration of the vast fantasy world Faust and her team had created. Now that we’re getting that, people are complaining?

2011: boi, I wish there were more races and side characters in this show

2018: okay! okay! you can stop now, I think we have enough races and if I have to memorize anymore side
characters my head may implode.

Personal rant
tbh I really miss the good old days when this show only had 7 characters and 3 races. Now that is not to say that changelings, dragons, griffons, hippogrifs, yaks, alicorns, kirins, bat ponies, and centaurs can’t make for great characters or that they should be excluded from the show simple because they differ from the content of older seasons. I merely fear that with the newlly added characters and creatures the integrity of the show’s main cast is damaged if not shifted. Those summers revolving around six unlikely friends in a backwater rural town seem so small a distant know that the supporting cast has grown to dwarf the main cast and compete with them for air time. Starlight, Trixie, Thorax, Ember, Discord, Yona, Gallus, Sandbar, Smolder, Ocellus and that hippogrif girl whomst I forget, among these characters it’s kinda hard to not feel like the focus of the show is shifting. None of these characters are really bad though, I’d never point fingers at tgem for “ruining” the show it’s just… I don’t really know. I don’t think of my opinions as anything high and mighty to respected or regarded. In the end I guess I’m just…afraid. I’ve never liked goodbyes. And now sonetines I feel as though I am waking up to find that what I had fell in love with had slipped away and replaced itself with something vaguely similar without ever offering me a chance to say sonething as it slowly disappeared. I kinda makes me lonely again. I get this feeling that I’m losing something close to me and I’d be a coward not to admit that it worries me. That is scares me. I guess…I guess nostalgia’s a bitch ain’t it?
