Sunburst is lowkey the unicorn version of Scootaloo. He can do basic levitation, but it seems it’s all he can do (have we ever see him use his magic for something other than that?) He talked about knowing so much about magic but not being able to cast “any” of it. Imagine, you were supposed to be a prodigy but reshelving books a little faster than a non-unicorn is the extent of your abilities.
I hope his parents were good to him about it. Either way, it’s not easy being this guy. Somepony give him a hug.

He just has low internal mana pools,he seems to be fine at “standard” unicorn magic like levitation and what not but his inability to cast large fancy magic spells probaly dashed his parents expectations. His social awkwardness probaly doesn’t help his case either.
That is an untold story I wish we could see. His parents were excited and rushed him off to super speashul magic school only for it to turn out that his casting ability is very limited?
