Myself, I like to think there’s some sort of plant in the Dragonlands that affects dragons like catnip does cats.
The gist of it is that Torch acquired a massive peace pipe from the buffalo as a token of their respect and he decides to misuse it with another dragon before going on a spiritual journey together. It looks a lot better in their heads than it does to everyone else.
