I agree that the elite/ruling-class Russians have become self-appointed boyars of Slavs. But arguing over ethnic “purity” is bordering territory upon which I’d rather not tread.
The problem with Russians is that they expropriate the slavicness for themselves too much, mostly because they’re the hegemon of the Slavic world. If you think about Slavs you automatically think about Russians. It’s not fair. Russians aren’t even a 100% pure Slavic nation. They have also a strong Mongol influence.
