The g1 seaponies were true seaponies. The g4 seaponies were just hippogriffs that were turned into seaponies cough. The g4 seaponies don’t event have seahorse-like bodies like the g1 seaponies do!

The g1 seaponies were much more mermaid/mermare-like. I mean, yes there were three baby seaponies that look mermaid like but, these were called fancy seaponies and they were all princesses(they were all royalty.) But most seaponeis from g1 look mostly like seahorses. They had bodies of seahorses, fins instead of legs with hooves and seahorse-like tails.

The g4 seaponies are most likely related to the fancy baby princess seaponies. No wait…. They called these mermaid ponies. full
