Well, it’s more when the youth here goes on vacation.  
Like, they don’t just put aside their concern about not being lazy, they also stop resisting other hedonistic desires, like drinking and sex.  
They just wanna go somewhere warm, where everything’s half the cost of back home, to get filthy drunk and sleep with whoever looks ‘exotically attractive’. I kinda expected it to be something that was only true of my generation, like a few other habits, but nah, the next generation appears to have picked it up too, and I’ve since heard that the previous generation did it too. As far as I can tell, Norwegian youth have behaved like that when unsupervised on vacation for ages.

Well, they’re Scandinavian. So either they’ve confused Norwegian women with Swedish, or they do act a lot the same.  
Because there’s definitively a kind of… Not American fetish, but ‘vacation boyfriend’ fetish, in the youth here. And turns out, the foreign men are easier to get into bed than the foreign women, so the girls get a lot more action.

Uhm I don’t know a single Swedish girl who has this “American fetish” you speak of, no offense Americans don’t have the most attractive stereotype.
