I’m assuming his constructs work on the cartoon rules of “can support the weight of multiple people but can be popped by any sharp object”
But that’s just it! His very presence alters the laws of physics around him. Bridges made from reasonable materials, like the rope bridge from Stranger Than Fan Fiction, seem to behave more realistically. And being able to make working binoculars out of balloons? The only other time we’ve seen something similar happen, it was in Discord’s personal O&O dimension.

With this kind of power, being able to use unicorn magic is redundant at best and overpowered at worst. It’s like granting Pinkie Pie the ability to teleport, or giving Discord the Mask of Loki.

I’m having way too much fun overthinking it.

I think the power of earth ponies is in there massive strength, I mean Maud pie and kick directly through rock. And being able to build a bridge out of balloons and use magic isnt necessarily overpowered. his Magic is pretty much average in strength, and balloon constructs can be defeated with a needle, I’m assuming his constructs work on the cartoon rules of “can support the weight of multiple people but can be popped by any sharp object”

@Pudding Pone
I know, but after “Pinkie Pride”, I sort of assumed that party ponies were usually earth ponies. It would give them a bit of an edge over pegasi and unicorns, who seem to have much more… visually impressive abilities most of the time. (Emphasis on most, as Maud Pie has shown time and time again.)

Also, I probably wouldn’t have minded that much if Party Favor was a pegasus, but a character who can both build a stable bridge out of balloons in a manner of seconds and use magic seems a bit overpowered.

I still feel a bit bitter about the fact that Party Favor is a unicorn. I mean, party ponies already have reality warping powers surpassed only by draconequuses (draconequī?), so it comes off as a bit redundant.
