“No, bad alicorn! Off the table, that’s my dinner! You made a mess in the kitchen again! Don’t make me get the water spray that you hate so much. Don’t make me send you outside again! (Sigh) fine you can have a taste…I said a taste!”
You wouldn’t even need a microwave or to cook it with rads. A fire can still be made. I could go so far as to say if there’s a water tank or some old heating oil tank that could be refashioned into a smoker or slow cooker and BBQ is invented.

We already have radiation-induced heating, it’s called a microwave, although the result of this kind of cooking is usually, to say the very least, disgusting.
Worst case scenario, taint or radiation could - possibly - be used as a source of heat. Given alicorn biology’s interaction with radiation, that’s my second likeliest guess. My first likeliest being that either some crazy pony preserved potent peppers through armageddon, or they survived via popularity/cultural momentum in some Stable.

I’d give you thumbs up in approval, but it seems I am a horse.
Just because shit blew up doesn’t really mean any attempt to make something remotely pleasurable has to end, even if things were in a primitive state. Given animals even exist period implies there’s flora in some form to sustain them, otherwise a totally carnivore food network would fall apart. And if that’s the case, what’s left still growing can be eaten. And if it can be eaten there’s certainly going to be flavor, whether or not it’s recycled preserved food or not.
Just because the bombs dropped doesn’t mean there wouldn’t be an active interest in making things taste better, or anything else aesthetic really. Hell, I’ll meme it here right now: meat on its own tastes like emptiness. You really do have to add spices and herbs to it to give it a profile that doesn’t invoke depression. This as someone who cooks.
Well a chili is basically just a spicy stew of meat. Meat’d be easy enough and I’m sure somewhere they’d be some kind of spice or replacement, like some sort of root like garlic or acidic fruit/vegetable like a tomato.
Sour cream is just slightly fermented milk. Pick a source.
This is how I vision this moment.
You and me both
Apologies; I meant capsaicin-style or horseradish-style heat, i.e. chili or (cheap)wasabi heat flavoring, not thermal energy.

Good thing spiciness is my anathema. Even tomato sauce is too spicy for me.
The Alicorn is a very resourceful creature.
