Yep. I will tell you this, Grogar will in the two part Season 9 finale, not the two part Season 9 premiere.
His leaked character sheet listed Episode S9E1 as his first appearance. It’s possible he might not appear in the flesh until later, however, the S9E1 appearance might be a flashback for all we know. S9E1 also seems to be about King Sombra, so if it is a flashback it will probably be one relating to King Sombra.

they ‘want’ the powerfull necromancer that can bring equestria to its colective knees, they want the bigest threat that the main six could ever posibly face, and they want stakes dialed up to 11
we already had a ‘friendship is forever’ season ender in magical mystery cure, if they had stoped the series there it would have been fine
but they didnt, now a happy go lucky note to end on wont cut it, what people wnat and are expecting is an epic on the level of the fight against tirek, forget 2 parts if hasbro realy wants to do this right they will probly need 4…and to grow a pair.
MLP is rebooted every generation. Of course G1 Grogar won’t be there, because G1 Grogar remained in G1. G4 will have own version.
I swore that it was leaked awhile back that he was going to be the Season 9 Finale Villain who escaped from Tartarus. (Like everyone does.)
