It’s a very obscure story. But I think it’s ambiguity is the most significant part. It happened long ago which means details have been lost. All details except four points.

The barbed horn sounds like an interpretation. Barbed wire spikey bits are like tiny stars of pain. Stars around horns, anyone? It was also magical (carved through a mountain!)
Wielded the stars, this loops back around to the horn. Stars around horns! It could also lead to the identity of the leader
If you break it down, the current leader of the Yaks (as far as we know) is Prince Rutherford. Ergo, a female leader wold be a Princess. Princess Yoonah (pronounced You-na)
