You don’t need hormones to want to have sex, but that’s beside the point. Yes, children have hormones. In fact, you need to have hormones to be born as either sex. What you’re probably talking about is how children lack puberty, and this would be correct. Puberty is what increases these hormone levels and gives us a lot of defining features. If children are not capable of understanding sex until puberty, like your logic would entail, then explain to me how I was watching porn at 6. I’m really curious as to how I apparently had no interest in sex, yet watched porn for orgasms.
 
The only explanation we have is that puberty, and the increase of hormone production at this time, aids in this. And we know this to be true. However, what you’re failing to understand is that puberty isn’t the same age or time for every child. At some point, children want to have sex. Plain and simple.
