Maybe Equestria was more advanced then we think before Cosmos and Discord came along, and after their chaos was removed the whole country was flung back into the Middle Ages? That or the people at the comic don’t care about these things.

Then why doesn’t anything look DIFFERENT?!
 
This era is supposed to look medieval, yet it looks like early 20th century America just like MODERN Equestria!
 
I can’t even blame this one on Cook; Price could have easily shown Cosmos robbing a Bazaar or something.

Cosmos doesn’t look too bad for a psychotic reality warper with a sadistic sense of humor.
 
And who else is amused to see Discord reduced to her flunky like this? Toting her purchases around and everything?
