Well, although the film was written to have the Mane Six and Spike land at the bottom of Mount Aris rather than landing at the Slug Troll Swamp. I believe that it would make sense if the roles of the Mane Six and Spike crashing into the Slug Troll Swamp were replace with Capper and the Sky Pirates. Because this is how I saw it in my extended cut. When Tempest sunk Captain Celaeno’s ship the Prism Wing, the ship splash into the sea near the Basalt Beach. Capper and the pirates knocks Tempest, Grubber, and the the several Storm Creatures including Tempest’s personal guards, into the sea before reaching the shore between the Basalt Beach and the Slug Troll Swamp where they encounter the Slug Troll Swamps moments before they reunited with the Mane Six and Spike (minus Twilight). Tempest, Grubber, and the several Storm Creatures, meanwhile, swam to the same shore of Basalt Beach and boarded their ship and search everywhere through Mount Aris for Twilight just before they finally found Twilight at the Basalt Beach alone and shunned by the Mane Five and finally capture Twilight and take her back to Equestria for the Storm King to steal her magic alongside the other three dethroned princesses magic.

Nope. She’s not in the picture. I still don’t know why we didn’t get to see the Slug Troll Swamp and its inhabitants in the film.

Did those creatures just eat the Element of Loyalty?

That is true, maybe a longer runtime or a few rewrites could’ve made it work?

Then again, the movie did have an issue of trying to fit too many new characters in too little time as it was.

Something tells me these creatures would have been Fluttershy’s friends.

Would’ve been cool if they made it into the movie
