Well there’s an earworm I’m going to be stuck with for weeks now.

Please take your discussion of games to the forums - besides being off-topic, it’s starting to stray into some very gruesome details.

I mean you can make heads explode with headshots, like eyeshots in 1 and 2.

Fallout only allows you to directly target specific body areas, I was just reading up on some modders trying to get Fallout 4 to accept groin and eye shots….  
Fallout’s rag doll only has 6 areas that are linked with vats, the head, torso, arms and legs.  
Those body parts are also linked with just about every frigging piece of clothing…  
That way if you scope out some raider, who’s wearing some snazzy raider gear and you completely destroy his arm, the clothing also changed its appearance to take into account the guys missing arm.  
One modder faked a groin shot in Fallout 4 by extending the head I think it was to the pelvis, and gave it the name in vats of groin. If you successfully hit it the npc would frenzy…  
But I believe he said that it wasn’t playing well with clothing because it wasn’t scripted to accept the pelvis as an additional vats area.

And you can do that in Fallout 3 and 4 as well.

I just had to double check on Google since it’s been eons since I have last played Fallout 1 and 2,but it looks like Fallout 2 legitimately had groin shots, and I remember them having a different effect on male npc’s than female npc’s.  
Also working your character up as a sniper to being good enough to hit a bad guy in the eyes with enough critical damage to completely bust open their head was very satisfying.

Best thing about the final panel is that Twilight looks so happy. Its like she`s found Nirvana, and its drumming Sunsets ass.

I’ve played FO1, and groin shots were never a thing. And they removed the targeting of eyes since head-shots do the same damage, and a blinding mechanic would just be awkward.

Who wouldn’t want Twi to bongo their bottom though?

The older fallout games were more generous with targeting body parts in vats, if I remember correctly Fallout 4 won’t let you target specific body parts when using mele, it just highlights the entire body.  
Not to mention Fallout 4 lacks groin shots and targeting the eyes as well.  
Could you imagine using sneak while bare handed and sneaking up on some female npc and targeting her ass with a palm strike?
