This was an idea suggested to me by Rathbane of his OCs Dr. Spiral and Beachcomber fighting Twilight and Sunset as ninjas fighting over a scroll (Twilight’s fan fiction maybe?). Luckily they caught me in the mood to draw ponies and I ran with it. Though I did take my own liberties with it like having Sunset running up a pillar, the hypnosis effect (I can NOT pull off spiral eyes), and the copious amount of shuriken and starfish. All of which make this pic more interesting to me, if a bit more cluttered.
 
The perspective took me a little while to work with, especially since I had characters at three different range (two of which being what I would call the midground and the mid-midground) and because I didn’t realize until as I’m typing this that I should have had the pillars start closer to the front of the pic so that they looked like they were more among them.
 
Speaking of the pillars, at first I was going to go for a red and gold color scheme with a jade green floor (Rathbane suggested a ninja temple or training area) but then I decided to have it inside Twilight’s massive castle and adjusted the color scheme to match and I think this one works a lot better than how it was looking before.
