So… I’m only kinda sorry about how suddenly I introduced an undertale character into the story. But here’s two things: 1, Discord dies not introduce people with any subtlety or orderly fashion and 2. I’ve been hinting at it for the last several pages in the previous chapter, so you should have seen it coming.
buttercups are golden flowers with sticky seeds and five petals. the only difference between buttercups and the flowers from the human village is that buttercups made asgore sick, while he brews a tea out of golden flowers. even then, I bet he’d drink buttercup tea just to punish himself for being too much of a coward to save his people and his son.
@redweasel
‘Golden Flowers’ are the flowers from the human village that have sticky seeds, aka the kind of flower Flowey is. They are completely different from buttercups.
yeah now that I look into it, buttercups made asgore ridiculously ill in the vhs tapes, so there’s no way they could be the same as the golden flowers, since he makes tea out of those all the time. unless he’s some kind of masochist? …
anyway thanks, I thought they were the same golden flowers, since buttercups are very golden and pretty and horrible.
I still think ponies could eat them though. it’d be funny to see asgore freaking out over some traditional pony dish full of buttercups.

The game never specified what the “golden flowers” in the tea could be… But maybe?
Never know with magical creatures. :P
ponies can eat noxious cala lilies
poisonous daffodils
deadly peppers
and they can drink a tea brewed from blisteringly noxious toxic deadly poisonous buttercups?
In all honesty… I was actually considering it.
