I just saw this image on the top score page I wasn’t even trying to find this image I was actually going here (>>2018860) this pic just happened to the first thing I saw so decided to comment on it.

Ok, thanks for clearing some things up for me. It’s just that I tend to doubt the effectiveness and accuracy of the mods in their judgement sometimes.

That is not why you were banned. Your ban message tells you what you were banned for. “Making jokes” wasn’t it.
 

 
Yes. We ask users to use the filters they have available to hide content they dislike. There is even a single tag you can use to fully and completely hide these specific kinds of images. Literally 1 click and you would never see them again.
 
As for the user uploading them: Yes. They were spoken to, and being monitored after that. We do not just ignore things when people bring them to our attention. We just don’t tell everyone every action we take.
 
If you want to discuss such things further, I suggest you move it to the Forums or IRC/Discord, and leave the comments for comments that aren’t about meta issues.

Also, it’s not like your words of wisdom to the user had any real affect on them.
 
Proof of that being over 6 or 5 posts ago.
 
Plus, keep in mind that this user threatened to remove/delete my account. If anything is ban-able then surely a threat like that is well within those rules.
 
Either way, what’s done is done. Let’s hope the mod’s conversation with the user convinced the user to stop the spam. However, should this kind of activity reappear, don’t be surprised when criticism, jokes and questions come the user’s way.

Besides it seemed to be less of the mod actually doing anything on their part to solve the problem, and more like the mod telling us to edit things on our own or find our own way around the content to remove or filter out the spam.

Just because a mod does something doesn’t make it right. Banning me for criticizing and joking at both the user’s and mod’s expense should not result in a ban period.
 
There have been many incidents in which mods have unfairly bamned users for things that maybe the mod considers spam/offensive etc. But in reality may not be offensive at all.
 
At the same time, having those like yourself tolerate such action doesn’t help the situation either, but rather tolerates what can be incorrect and flawed judgement passed by the admins and mods on this great site.

With them already being hostile in another image (and more I’m sure), I don’t think that either A. they really don’t care much about the rules, B. are simply trolling, or C. young enough to think that a simple color swap makes them think that they are an OC and is safe to assume them as so. One way or another, I don’t think they are going to be around long because of all this. Threatening another user that they would delete their account? That would’ve been crossing a major red line and would’ve resulted in a ban (whether temporary or permanent) in my books.
