I dunno if the whole Ragamuffin thing was them trying to balance the scales. Seemed to me more like they wanted to a Rose/Jack titanic joke with Rarity. Also, Ragamuffin was designed to look exactly like a male Applejack (and that’s not speculation, they literally made a joke of him standing next to Applejack and everyone noticing that).
But I couldn’t tell anyone.
sure thing, pal.
“We are so gay that we didn’t had to tell anypony”
You don’t get fandoms, do you?
>any other genders
?
@Darth Shy
Why everyone is trying to give the mane 6 a sexual preference? Remember that this is not another teen show about teenager problems and such.
Not necessarily, she could easily be bisexual or just confused.
It wouldn’t in real life, certainly, but I’m pretty sure it would in a kids’ TV show.
Um, no, all it confirmed was that she’s attracted to men. It in no way, shape, or form prevents her from being attracted to women. Or any other genders for that matter.
No worries. Everyone is allowed to like or dislike things. Your opinion is no less valid or more valid than mine.
Honestly, I really don’t see much fanservice in ROF. However, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. SB is much worse when it comes to that.
Edited
Honestly, I’d probably be less hard on the special of the Equestria stuff never happened.
the whole thing of ROF was poorly done fanfic that’s made 70% fanservice and the other % nothing anybody cares about if your interpartion is true and this totally them confirmed ship (which it isn’t).

well as a dude that like dudes and dudettes i found it boring at best.
I can agree, at least in terms of how much I enjoyed the two. Spring Breakdown had potential that it took and shattered, wasting it on so much… pointless nonsense. I would have much preferred what the original showing of the clip of Sci-Twi pone panicking implied, that being that they were going to spend a lot of time in Equestria.
I mean it still leaves you with consequences that are terrifying to consider. How many people aboard the cruise ship knew about magic, let alone the existence of Equestria? Even given the magic that the CHS students are well acquainted with, how many of them knew that it came from a dimension of ponies? How many of them freaked out upon becoming naked quadrupeds? What ramifications will this lead to?
None of course because it comes from the same people who think a government transfer of power of diarchs to a sexarchy (hexarchy if you want to be prudish about a perfectly acceptable numerical abbreviation) can be done just at the drop of a hat with absolutely no other government involved, because it’s ultimately written for kids and they don’t think about it anywhere near to the same extent that fans do, but still.
Only the stuff that happens kinda sucks and is only in the last 15 minutes, at least ROF (despite its flaws) was its own little thing and didn’t need to rush into poorly-done last minute fanservice.
Not to mention that nothing happening is more or less the usual nature of EQG material, not to mention FIM does it a lot too.
Edited
nope. stuff actully happens in that so by default it’s better.

Yeah, I’ll admit that. The writing isn’t amazing and as an overall adventure it’s not THAT great.
It’s still my favorite of all of the specials (apart from Forgotten Friendship) because of just how lesbian it is though. As a lady who likes ladies and wants to see ladies in love, it made me very, very happy. I admit it’s not amazing while still loving it.
Still better than Spring Breakdown
and subpar, don’t forget that.

Because Hasbro is ultimately a toy company subject to the whims of a populace that could potentially react very negatively to homosexuality on display, meaning they lose lots of toy sales. It’s the same reason why recent Disney movies that have obviously gay characters (such as LeFou in the B&TB remake) avoid actually outright stating it, because then they’d be unable to show the movie in many markets, such as Malaysia.
You’ll also notice that every time after a particularly egregious display of “it’s all obvious except them actually saying it” lesbian love on the screen, the next special or episode or movie or whatever tends to have something especially “straight” to make up for it. Like Ragamuffin and Rarity insta-falling-in-lust with him. I tend to think it’s the result of executives telling the makers of the show what to do, because they try to avoid showing much in the way of romance otherwise. Even if Roller-coaster of Friendship was just one long lesbian love movie.
