That’s cool.
Me too actually, I just kinda prefer the American ones.
I’m fine with both cartridge designs to be honest.
Yeah, SNES games both Japanese, and American tend to have good boxart.
I misspoke a bit, I meant that the Japanese labels are a lot nicer too. Though some of the NA ones are hilarious (Breath of Fire I and II come to mind).
I guess ’cause they look more generic, and plastic-y. But I like the unique sticker labels the Japanese carts have.
Though, I agree, the American cartridges look better, and more unique.
I agree that the label art was usually nicer and showed some effort, but I feel that the NA carts themselves looked a bit better. Something about the curves on the Japanese carts is just off-putting somehow.
They looked fine, but the SuperNES ones looked a bit more distinct.
Interestingly, Super Mario World is subtitled “Super Mario World: Super Mario Bros. 4” in Japan, while “Donkey Kong Country” was renamed “Super Donkey Kong” when it was brought to Japan. (It was made by Rareware a British company, so the english version was made first.)
How come? The Super Famicom cartridges looked too weird?
Y’know, I always liked the design of SuperNES game cartridges. They look even better then the Japanese versions.
Ah that makes sense. Too bad the label wasn’t multicolored, then that cartridge would be EarthBound.
I’m honestly not sure :p I just told the artist to put some color on it so it doesn’t look like it blends in with her
Looks like it! It might be the easiest version of FFIV but she’s still in for a fun time.
