It’s been ages since I last posted (being on vacation for a month and various other obligations will do that) but I’m happy to be back with Thorax! Thorax is made of Lime, Kelly Green, Magenta, Navy, Pumpkin, Light Orange (non-Shannon), Grape (Non-Shannon) and Violet minky with appliqué details. I got to do some new techniques on this guy, which was super fun. His buggo wings and tail are made of nylons and wire (how much fun is it to make stocking fairy wings like you’re 10 and it’s Halloween!) which were then airbrushed, painted, glittered, appliquéd and edged by hand in minky. They’re lovely and flexible and can be posed in all sorts of ways. His chest and elytra (wing covers) are also airbrushed, and the gems on his chest are sculpted and painted. He is 16” tall, or 20” to the top of his thicc horns. He was certainly a long process, but I learned so much making him and am so happy with the final result.
