Regarding her general mood; Recently, some prick actively sabotaged Dashies chances of getting into the main team, which happens to be VITAL to to getting anything above weather management, to quote; ‘I need an athletic scollership to have any kind of future’. On top of that, Gilda, Dashies roommate and best friend (Possibly her ONLY friend to boot), betrayed their friendship to a group led by the very prick who sabotaged her. And then there’s her reputation taking a kick in the head under the assumption she… swings the other way. On top of that, her plan of having a ‘worthwhile’ job is FAILING because of the incompetence of the entire team save her, who’re just there to have fun and led by a coach who doesn’t give a crap about the outcome. Doesn’t seem like it’s happened in a great space of time either.
Regarding Derpy; To Dashie, it seems like Derpy isn’t taking it seriously. She doesn’t know what circumstances may have led to Derpys absence or inability to play properly. I admit, even though she’s my favourite she’s not exactly subtle. Or the best at reading moods. When she defended Fluttershy despite apparently hardly knowing her (Maybe I’m wrong though. Long time since I read that one), she could see her being openly mocked. Derpy, we’ve hardly seen so I don’t think Dashie knows about her dilemmas. All she sees is someone who’s preventing her from being successful in life.
Checks Ah. That part where Firefly said Dashie didn’t do anything that session? It’s the very session we see immediately after Gilda betrays her.
Ending my reasoning. It probably didn’t make much sense and just came off as incoherent rambling, but it made sense to me.

Some good points there, BP. I will contend, however, that the best at sports are so because they are constantly practicing. Maybe if RD practiced more she could have been open for in the play in the next comic. The week to a day difference is pretty hefty, so there is justification there. I get the feeling there is a reason, but more importantly, Rainbow Dash doesn’t care at this moment if there is one. If she knows that she is slacking, then she is fair in her assessment. I suspect that Derpy has a Dinky in her oven, though. Good points though. Glad to see them.
I didn’t down vote (I don’t have an account), but my guess would be that disagreement stems from the fact that these are not analogous situations. We already know that RD is good at this game (and for that matter, actually knows the rules), so the marginal benefit of additional practices sessions for her is far less than that for Derpy. As an example, Michael Jordan could call me out for missing basketball practice even while he skips it himself. Moreover, the text suggests that Depy has missed an entire week’s worth of practice whereas RD simply didn’t participate in (at least) one practice. This isn’t to say RD wasn’t necessarily acting like an ass (we’d need to know if there was a reason Derpy missed practice – was it for medical reasons/family emergency, etc., or was she just slacking? If it was the latter, RD is pretty justified in calling her out for willful ignorance), but, again, the situations are not analogous due the massive gap in basic knowledge and skill.
