AHAHAH That was the first this I thought when I seen this image.
Backstory is some evil wizard/minotaur/behemoth/lizard/cloud/goop/rock/wand/arcane-something-or-other/trixie(joke)/prank/flower/disease/radiation/natural disaster/un-natural disaster/ self infliction for some kind of revenge or plot. did this to them. They were once fun loving and nauseatingly cute giggling morons who all had wings. They flew around with their pixie stuffs and did nothing other than giggle at others misfortune. They were great for starter stand up comics thought. THen one day, one of the mentioned things above descended upon them and turned them into the changelings we know and love today. Chrysalis took power on her own accord by not only being the strongest in the hive, but being able to steal the love they fed on at an alarmingly fast and in unhindered amounts.
