Yamino is simply a bad person. They’ve made this more than clear. Nothing they did regarding Derpy is in the least bit justified.
 
Now the Derpy scene actually does offend me, but I was just so much more glad that she was now a canon character. I also expected her to have more scenes until she got her own episode now that she’s been established. One that would teach people that disabled people are still people.
 
But Yamino put a stop to letting us disabled fans have someone to relate to better. They put a stop to letting there be ponies with visble handicaps. What yamino did has hurt so many of those she pretends to protect. She is sick.
 
I know she’s not the only one, but if you’re gonna be a complete arsehole, and you’re gonna be the loudest arsehole out there, you damn well better expect to get the most flak. She got what she deserved. As far as I know she still hasn’t apolagised and is still posting shit. I don’t get how you can feel any sympathy for such a hateful person.

That “stop ruining our fun” excuse seriously pisses me off. It’s up there with the fucking “waaahh it’s just my opinion” or anything related to the sort. This fandom’s reigning excuse for anything is “stop trying to ruin our fun”.
 
Regardless of how much or how little Yamino was involved I’m now glad Derpy was changed and had her subsequent appearances significantly toned down. I hope we see not a SINGLE pixel of her in season 4.

I never got some of Derpibooru’s mindset on these images. Because some don’t like them they decide to shitpost them into oblivion making nothing better.

Also, this anon finds the social justice rebloggers she gets even worse than she is. Some of them get really preachy with their home-spun version of “the truth” and almost all of them are oversensitive and (by putting emotions before objectivity) irrational.

Pardon me for belabouring the point, but I’ve never known anyone, religious or otherwise, to get offended by a Christmas tree in the mall. I bet it’s happened, but it’s pretty rare (malls are not public property; they don’t have to remove anything they don’t want to).
 
There are things, however, that I have seen people take offense to. Such as a Nativity set up on state property; then supporters of said Nativity threatening retribution when a court inevitably orders its takedown. Or when people in my area went berserk after the Court banned reading prayers over the loudspeaker at (state-funded) football games.
 
Also, people get mega butthurt if a female character is shown as anything other than perfect or near-perfect. Thus Derpy.

She did contribute to it a lot more than some angry soccer moms, since she is a notable internet person.

I don’t think many people actually believe she single-handedly censored Derpy. She’s just an easy-to-remember shorthand for that whole group of tumblr “social justice” butthurt soccer mom types.

Now, I don’t agree with what Yamino has said or done, but she is not and never was the ringleader of the Censor Derpy movement.
 
The true “demon” was some soccer mom, probably in Ohio or somewhere, who flipped out over an innocent mistake. Most likely she was already a prominent member of a parent’s &/or church group and so already knew how to manipulate the media and create Outrage. This person (likely a woman but maybe not) had probably gone after Hasbro for something stupid before, and won. If I was Hasbro, I wouldn’t want to face the wrath of the PTC over something so ultimately trivial.
 
Doesn’t anyone here still remember “nipplegate” (a.k.a “wardrobe-malfunction-gate”)? Never underestimate the power of a few dozen prudish soccer moms.
 
TL;DR - Yamino was a jerk, and she’s not blameless. But she never deserved all the hate.
