for what reason?  
I’m not against the couple.  
But this is just for a personal desire, I prefer to see the authors write their story.
 
flashimmer is an example.  
He came back to me because there’s a story that’s built.  
sunset used flash by pride but as and when these efforts to redeem herself she discovers who is really flash and starts to appreciate it for what it really is.
 
For flash it’s different, he loved Twilight but fate broke his heart despite these efforts.  
He tries to rebuild himself and sunset is a support that helps him to move on.
 
This coming together allowed them to rebuild and discover who they really are.  
This evolution gives hope for a stable relationship between two characters before the end of this story.
 
 
I regret for this last season the choices of writers for certain couple but I give them a chance to propose a story before the end.  
ex: quibbledash  
I take it as a step back, they proposed a rapprochement of the two characters but that’s not done. result I am happy for Quibble that it is found someone to love but I find rainbow alone again.(previously Soarin’ that today I see more with Spitfire in view of their interaction)

To me it’s more about their personalities. I can see Rarimuffin working out but Timber x Twilight seems like a break up waiting to happen. At least in my experience.
