Little do these uncultured swine realized that Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2 was actually pretty good and Final Fantasy 14 I still play till this day, I never get bored of 14. It’s even better now with the new expansion of Shadowbringers!

XII is not my favorite, but it’s best after VI.  
X is not the best, but My girlfriend LOVES this game, so don’t you dare…  
And XIII is my favorite. It’s not horrible, it’s just not bad.

Ahh FF6. The last good FF of the streak of awesomeness Square produced. Only FF I really got into after 6 was 9.

Just Cause and Sleeping Dogs were merely published by SE, not developed, but yes, they still make games that aren’t Final Fantasy related.
 
People also forget, (and I can’t blame them because most gamers never care for such things) that ENIX makes the lions share of decisions in regards to games. Not Square since they’re minority partner. And Enix doesn’t do well overseas compared to Square, so they milk the FF franchise for what it’s worth over here.

Am I the only one in the world who hasn’t beat any final fantasy games? Also they still make stuff other than Final Fantasy…does Just Cause 2 and Sleeping Dogs count?

My favorites are 6 and 9, though I don’t particularly dislike any other.

IX was godamn fucking amazing, pretty damn near the caliber of V and VI.  
If it wasn’t for the fact that the last two CDs kinda crap out on the plot, it’d be my favorite FF by far.  
XII had pretty damn solid gameplay and some interesting characters, but the plot ultimately brought it down, not a bad game by any stretch, but ain’t exactly the golden days either.

Twelve was fucking amazing.

Not even the scantly-clothed Mithras could save that Final Fantasy game.
 
Final Fantasy VI ftw, guys.

FFXII was actually really good.

Final Fantasy XI was the dark horse of the entire series that nobody except hardcore MMORPGers like me enjoy. The single-player series are like Candyland in difficulty by comparison.

On the flipside, I’ve never liked action RPGS as they mainly come off to me as mediocre action games with stats slapped on. Turn based is the closest way to capture the traditional P&P RPG feel

PCRPGs are kind of completely different though. Well, I guess Fallout’s awesome enough for anybody. And if they ain’t graphics whores, Avernum/Geneforge is good too.

xenogears is better than all of these games combined.

The problem isn’t turn-based, but that there feels to be no reason for turn-based. Barely any strategy in FF except against the bonus bosses. I only ever needed to not hold attack/most recent magic gained on FF6 and FF1  
For turn-based that feels more strategical (and therefore actually requires effort and thinkystuffs) try out Shin Megami, Persona, Jade Cocoon, or Legend of Legaia

I may be the only one here, but: I REALLY LIKE 10-2. OK it wasn´t the best game, but it was funny and entertaining. I also liked 13 but hated the Fighting Mechanics

I’ve played IV, VII and XIII. All were boring as fuck and horribly designed games.
