honestly, vito, it was kind of sad that they couldn’t relate to her until she established she had a career.
 
her dad was a huge jerk for paying the cutie mark thing zero mind.
 
it took so, so much to get them to actually listen to her. i was hoping this episode would have been nothing but scootalove, because jesus christ the kid deserves it.
 
if they made an episode where nothing mean happened to scootaloo i’m sure she’d wake up at the end.

This is somehow amazing how always there will be people who would defend the dumbest thing introduced in the show. The last episode was not bad, it was just evil and sickening. I would never expect Scootaloo’s parents to be so uncaring and egoistic, and remember, neglect IS child abuse. They didn’t know she’s got a cutie mark, they didn’t know she was bullied in school, scared of nightmares, in need for hugs, playing games and any other activities normal kids should have. They decided to make a kid, drop it to one of their relatives and go on adventures, because it was their “calling”. It’s heartbreaking how Scootaloo still adores them, but they don’t deserve even one percent of love from her. She has friends, something she can call a home, some ponies who were responsible for raising her through the 8 seasons, but not her parents. After so many years they are back to take everything away and move to another place, because THEY want it.  
It’s always just them, Scootaloo was the problem standing on a way to living their dreams.
 
I don’t know how messed up is United States about protecting kids, but if this happened to a kid in my “Europoor” country, these jerks would be stripped for all parental rights. I didn’t even mention that Scoots is handicapped, it would cause outrage in media. So many people imagined Scoots to be an orphan, and after the end of the episode, she’s in even worse position - she has parents that care more about their hobbies than about her.
