True, many of them were dark. But I am happy to see that Gravity Falls seems to have shifted them to more storytelling and adventure. Star vs The Forces of Evil started out really silly but it got really good and even dark( I mean genocide of Monsters, and the past Queens being beyond tyrannical and speciest…wow) MLP just came out at the right time and place, most shows from the early 2000’s were anime rip offs(rather than being inspired by) and action shows(with little character development) MLP: FIM’s slice of life stories were a breath of fresh air, but they are now formula. Hopefully the new G5 will focus on lore building, adventure, fantasy and only sometimes slice of life.

And I love the brother/sister dynamic of Sprig and Anne. Honestly, Boulder Media…take notes! This is how you do a dynamic between Spike and Twilight. Sprig is who Spike should have been. Plus unlike MLP, this show is not afraid to say “kill” “die” and other words, yep Disney shows have more guts these days.
Down to 5.
Not for long
No, it’s still 6.

you should’ve seen most of the Disney shows in the early to late 90s
