If it weren’t a POV shot, it would look like this, which – ironically, all things considered – actually is correct for a right-way-up non-POV camera shot between her legs.
@DragonRanger
In the establishing shot, the gramophone horn is pointing to the cheerleaders’ right.
in your flipped shot, it’s pointing to their left – Lighthoof’s right hind leg is on the right side of the image, obviously, seeing as it is a POV shot.
@Ponylooker
Refer to >>2115035, where I flipped it horizontally and vertically. Everything is oriented properly. If I had just changed things vertically, then the entire classroom would have been oriented wrong when compared to the establishing shot.
but when you see something upside-down, it’s not mirrored just vertically, it’s rotated 180 degrees (which is the same as mirroring both horizontally and vertically)
No we are not. Not unless her head is in the middle of her body.
Useless to explain… If they want to be right, let it be then

LOL we ARE seeing it from her POV, upside down between her legs…
Okay, girls!! No time to do the awkward IWTCIRD* pose!
Snips: [blows whistle] Dance ponies, buckball field, pronto!
(Shimmy Shake falls off onto the ground in shocking embarrassment)
You DON’T have to hide what’s underneath, girls!! It’s not like everypony or every creature wears clothes in public anyway!!

How?
Try doing this yourself. Looking at things upside down doesn’t magically change horizontal orientation.
tl;dr version: turns out the show had it right
