I just noticed they’re still recycling the “Foal Free Press” header instead of making a new newspaper template.

I share Erosias sentiment regarding Cozy; I think it’s because when you’re somebody like this character, having committed in my view unjustified acts of aggression, but also being somebody who is a real danger to the well being and lines of descent of various lifeforms, some of which are my people, some of the time taking place in my home, as far as I’m concerned that is all the justification I need to defend myself against you, which includes turning you into stone forever, kid or not.

Well, Discord didn’t have one, but he was. Tirek had one, but he wasn’t.
 
In fact, Discord got redeemed because they put a magical leash on him. They had the Elements and he couldn’t touch them because of Celestia’s spell. Which makes this here doubly stupid because there’s a blueprint for how it can be done.

I’m getting weird “lauren faust purist” vibes from this and frankly that’s an attitude I’ve always strongly opposed. The whole series has always been a bit up and down depending on the episodes, but really I don’t agree with the whole “the new writers have ruined the show” thing. If anything some of my least favorite episodes were actually in the earliest seasons. Hell season 3 was arguably the worst and even it had some great songs at least. In fact some of the things I liked the most - and some of the best fan services - came from seasons after the first two.
 
As for that remark about twitter….yeah no. I can tell you no one is going to confirm THESE CHARACTERS HAVE DIED. I don’t know why it’s so hard to see the high probability that, beyond our actual exposure to this universe, all of these characters will someday experience what Discord did. Even if its thousands of years later. Even if that’s not directly stated - or hell even if it’s not implied - it just seems like a logical assumption based on what the show has given us in the past.
 
The others probably could be reformed someday, just not now. Hell if the show were continuing or its history were directly referenced by G5 (possibly won’t happen because legal issues), then even Cozy Glow might have a future of some kind.
 
That’s one thing that stands out though because I honestly still think what she did was a lot darker than the other villains and it’s hard for me to see her being forgiven.

Season 5 Glim Glam had a communism camp that erased dissent and bred a culture of obedience to her and her alone. Brainwashing and all that other good jazz too.
 
First two seasons had Twilight decide who was gonna be her plus one to the Grand Galloping Gala, my guy. That episode was fire, but c’mon. The show’s never really been too dark, least of all in the earlier seasons. You’re taking these situations and blowing them up.

I marathoned seasons 1-5 (and the first half of 6) and the first two seasons are incredibly dark compared to later seasons. Zecora is still the only zebra character in G4 and the Mane 6 tried to lynch her was back in season 1.
