I watched the Finale about a week ago, and I honestly didn’t mind it. There were a few moments I disliked such as Grogar not actually being Grogar, how little we saw of the Young Six seeking help from the other kingdoms, and other such things. Though for the most part I enjoyed the final three episodes.
 
Took me a few moments to adjust to Twilight’s final design, but overall I think it suits her. I’ll always be a die hard Unicorn Twilight fan since I’ve been with the show since early Season 1, but I honestly think that her new design actually makes her look better when it comes to her model having wings attached to it.
 
Aside from the Season 5 Finale’s ending song, the final song in the Series Finale is one of only two instances that I ever remember crying during the show. I really felt that the show finished strong with Season 9, despite my qualms with parts of Season 4, Season 6, Season 7 and Season 8. Ultimately, I’m satisfied with the final result of the show.

Loved the Finale.

Something I noticed, every couple stand beside each other in these “transition” pictures, within the picture we see Starlight and Trixie directly beside each other and the last time we see Starlight and Trixie in animation they’re beside each other. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! lol  
Anyway, it’s good enough for me.

They turned her into Celestia. She’s been this way for a good four years now, actually.

Headcanon: Sometime during the time skip, Princess Twilight Sparkle helped Flash Sentry with a friendship problem. Flash Sentry had also trained Gallus as a Royal Guard. He is now currently serving as Captain of the Guards for Princess Flurry Heart in the Crystal Empire.

I agree. She does look ridiculous.

I get why they don’t have Alicorn manes be translucent, but the fact Twilight’s is almost a solid sheet of purple just looks really awkward
 
The colored stripes aren’t enough to break it up
 
Luna has stars in hers, for example, which looks really nice, and Celestia of course has several colors in hers
