Sounds a lot like “A Guard For A Queen”. I wouldn’t recommend it though, very grimmdark.
You’re very brave to view Chrysalis like that considering the amount of people who won’t stop saying “She’s a monster. The show said so. LET IT GO.” But you know who else was a total monster? Discord. And look how he turned out.
But now I want to know what this guard had to do get Chrysalis to reveal her inner feelings. She traps those like a tightly shut safe.

I bet it took a lot of time for this guard pony to even get a compliment from Chrissy.
I like to think it’s some, not alternate timeline or anything (I haven’t seen the finale so idk what happens to Chryssi) but I like to think of it that at some point Chryssi was captured, and this guard was assigned to watch her cell. Over time, she somehow, to her own surprise, had actual feelings for this generic guard pony (maybe he felt bad for her and brought her a cookie at some point, and that sparked it), and he reciprocated.
I’m sure Cadance also saw this and saw a huge chance for reformation.
I might give him a name if I keep doing this, but I love him just being a random Guard. No special upbringing or ‘chosen one’ background, he probably fought during the changeling invasion of Canterlot, the queen just happened to fall head over heels for this one random Guard pony.

Never considered her evil. I thought that she simply hides kindness and feelings. And this ship only confirms my theories. How wonderful it is, it certainly is not shining … But … Probably, she herself loved shining very much and wanted to take at least someone from the guard if only … She had little memory.
One of the ships was ‘Queen Chrysalis x Royal Guard.’ Its literally just supposed to be any canon Pegasus guard from the show. The helmetless manestyle was inspired by Shining Armor’s artist friend.
I love to think how the romance could have come about. I’ll probably comm more of this in the future.
