When the episode was released, nobody questioned what the character was supposed to be. Then the script leaked, but the writer said the phrasing didn’t mean anything, so the situation now is no different from before we got the script, and there’s no reason to believe the character is anything other than she appears to be. Your repeated claims of indifference (even though you keep coming back here) don’t change anything.
As if people don’t argue over things that don’t matter at all at the end of the day, though I’m taking a mediator stance on the whole thing (and failing I guess). Li’L Cheese is listed under the list of ponies page, they don’t even have their own page. You can be a fan of something and not be anal over the detail of a fictional character’s gender who matters less to the story and fandom than most background ponies at this point.
I’m calling this argument here though, because I’m done sullying the comments of this person’s fanart over something so juvenile.

If it doesn’t matter, why are you even here? She’s listed under relatives on Pinkie Pie’s page. Of course fans want to know what they should put there. In this case the writer and the episode itself say one thing, and some tweet from some guy who’s not the writer says something else.
It doesn’t really matter what your “mathematics” say, your word doesn’t mean anything until we have concrete proof. You were saying that Jim’s word means nothing because he isn’t the writer, but that can also be said about the animators—as this is very likely just a slight communication error between the writers and the animators. Or Li’l Cheese could just be a girly colt, it doesn’t really matter one way or another.
Li’l Cheese doesn’t even have their own wiki page yet, so there’s absolutely no reason to use that as a reason to take this seriously. When they deserve their own page if they reappear in the comics or something, we’ll probably already have a concrete answer by then. It’s also just a fan wiki, not wikipedia or anything, so it doesn’t hold that much importance anyway. Chill out.

Jim isn’t the writer, Haber is. Haber says it’s unspecified, and the character design says female. My fancy mathematics says unspecified + female = female until we hear otherwise.
It matters because we need to know what to put on the fan wiki and such.
So basically, you just proved my point that until there’s a direct confirmation, Li’l Cheese doesn’t have a set gender in the show. And right now, Jim’s word is the closest there is to real confirmation until stated otherwise.
Not that it even matters, I’m not sure why people are making such a fuss over eyelashes on a cartoon foal of all things.
Yes, and the writer says he didn’t give her a gender. At all.
The script also says Lil’ Cheese makes an armpit fart sound, and that didn’t happen either. The script is just a guideline. What’s canon is what’s in the episode.
Smithers in the Simpsons originally appeared with dark skin due to a mistake on the animators’ behalf, and in every subsequent appearance, he’s reappeared with yellow skin.
The writers always get the final say, not the animators.

Yeah sorry guys i jist read the thing about it
My bad
Carry on
Derpi is saying he’s male. The wiki also says male.
The writers didn’t actually gave Li’l Cheese a gender, the animation makes her appear female but Jim and Josh says male, I don’t really care since we either have a cute filly or a cute trap.
