Meanwhile, we actually know that, contrary to popular belief, Lauren did not intend this to be how the ending goes. Because she’s the one who explicitly stated there were only ever supposed to be two alicorns.

That’s something that was always felt off to me whenever fanart of a Celestia-sized Twilight would pop up.

That’s understandable, but it’s still a little disappointing when you consider how many episodes had the characters travel to a new location that was never really revisited. That means creating tons of new backgrounds and characters, and usually they all look amazing! This was THE final episode! Unless it was super-rushed at the last second for some reason, this should have been one where the put megatons of work into! It should have been the grand finale. Specially when we’re talking about redesigning the main characters. There ARE hints of greatness here and there. Twi’s coronation outfit and hairdo look wonderful. But the rest is not really up there by any means with the standards the show has set.
