Nah, I think she’s just as bad. Considering how the next time we see her, F.A.D. might as well have never happened and she’s right back to bullying. Oh, and I think anyone who still thinks Silver Spoon is the “good one” just has trouble accepting that people with glasses can be bullies.

This has been my headcanon since Family Appreciation Day.

She’s probably like Stormer from Jem - the only member of the evil group that continues to hang out with them despite not having any true malicious intent.

Silver spoon. Her cutie mark is a spoon. Her talent is not being rich, but rather showing affection. Spooning(in the non-sexual way), so to speak. However, she’s insecure about losing the friend she made which helped her discover her talent, like it will vanish if she dumps her.
 
Okay, I’m weird. Firefanatic, the guy fixated on hugging and other forms of affection…

My headcanon is that Silver Spoon knows that what DT does is wrong, but lacks the courage to confront her about it. However, she cares too much about her to leave her, so she chooses to go down with her BFF than looking for other friends.

They try to recruit Twist to their group so they can have a devoted minion for both of them, take a friend away from Apple Bloom, and so they will both look better by comparison.
 
But then one of them starts actually making friends with her unexpectedly and has to hide it from the other while learning what friendship could be.

She and DT are daddies girls…but SS missing her’s…
 
She’s Octavia’s half-sister - and they share a common father who actually became more-busy as a composer as time went on, so he has had minimal time to influence and raise his second daughter. Octavia’s parents were both pretty similar- musically talented, critical, perfectionists even, they loved each other but drove each other nuts (I’m thinking Frasier and Lilith type marriage) at the same time so they got divorced and eventually the guy remarried to SS’s mom who actually is just like SS, she’s unobjectionable and prone to being a follower and latching onto the biggest cult of personality…be it good or bad.
 
EVENTUALLY- what happens is that he begins to fear his devotion to his music is going to alienate his second wife and daughter and beings working in ponyville- it takes him some time to realize this because during his first child rearing experience, his understanding with Octavia was that she was always very ambivalent towards both him and her mom- she just kind of went about her own way. SS is simply not the same, she strongly responds to his presence and he doesn’t fully grasp her endearment to him for a long time. Eventually he does and is able to provide her with a nourishing environment and help her uncover a bit of a singing talent, that in turn develops into a friendship with Sweetie Bell.  
Who in time become more of a duo, (ala fluttershy and Rarity) the same way scootaloo and applebloom become more of a duo. (AJ and RD) DT becomes something of an aloof, snarky, and judgmental “Pinkie” of the group but don’t mind being around because of her penchant for having a good time at her dad’s expense. and the 5 of them go about there lives waiting for their own twilight to come wondering in to make it “all complete”.

Actually, her love for DT burns with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns, but she can’t let her know that.

personally I’d rather see something (not an episode cause this is a pretty OTP self indulgent idea) after Family Appreciation Day where after Silver Spoon was genuinely impressed by Granny Smith’s story, Diamond Tiara rejects her out of spite, thinking that Silver thinks that Crusaders are better than her. The next day, Diamond still won’t talk to her, and Silver blames the crusaders. She goes over and scornfully insults and berates them, and it eventually escalates into a fight, Cheerilee being the benevolent teacher she is, breaks it up and scolds all of them for such wanton violence. A bit later, Diamond apologizes to Silver for being so selfish. And they both learn that they’re basically soulmates I TOLD YOU IT WAS OTP INDULGENT

Silver isn’t without sin, of course. She can keep up with Tiara’s twatitude and Babs Seed’s fake-twatitude easy. It’s just that she’ll sometimes show little signs, like concern for Tiara near the end of Call Of The Cutie or applauding Granny Smith’s story. That, along with being a pretty obvious follower, can lead people to think there might be more to her.  
I doubt she’ll ever call the Crusaders her friends, but she might feel bad if teasing went too far and made someone cry or something.

I want to see an episode where even Silver Spoon thinks she’s gone too far and abandons her and it’s all focused on how crushingly depressed DT is because nobody likes her.

When Granny Smith gave that speech about being one of the founders of Ponyville, Silver Spoon was the first to start clapping. That on it’s own says something.

is this headcanon just another excuse to demonize Diamond Tiara, as if she fucking needs it, and make Silver Spoon into whatever the fuck you want cause she’s a background pony?

I picture DT as having a not-good private life; like her mother is Screwball and in an asylum, or her father is always too busy to be there for her, whatnot, and she’s always miserable when alone and uses bullying to divert attention from that and make herlsef less miserable by comparison.
 
SS is the only one that knows all that and just tries to be as good a friend as she can.

Full agreement. Silver is just kind of timid and submissive. She wants to be Diamond’s friend, but she lacks the confidence to stand up to her. She’d rather be mean to other ponies than risk losing the pony she’s closest to.
 
It’s a sad state of affairs, which would make for a good episode lesson, but we’ll probably never get one since it would mean nuking the rich fillies’ status quo.

Possible. I kind of like to think that after reading The Pirate and The Princess.
